I've had some trouble trying to comment of late. That said - so happy to see this post - sadly - even if one spreads the news around - people don't always bother with facts especially when those facts upset the apple cart of their already entrenched worldview. Krugman recently pointed his readers towards work by Yves Smith demonstrating that UK gov forecasts of an improved economy are based on the assumption that household debt will rise to new heights. So - government indebtedness is evil - but household debt is necessary to counterbalance the government cuts ergo household debt is good. I stand in awe of the capacity of people to be so stupid as to allow this sort of stuff to go on.
